I'm going to go get Ice Cream, want some?

The weather here in Glasgow lately has been amazing, Ice Cream sales are rocketing! ;-) Here's a quick Blog about a great way to go get some, to decide on your goal and make it.



All things happen bit by bit, one thing leads to another. So you want to go get Ice Cream from the store? Look at all the steps involved in that. The Ice Cream just doesn't materialise because you think about it and want it. Though I tell you what, that would be extremely brilliant! :-)

The reality is that effort is needed to make it happen, once you make the choice to have the thing you want. That's it, that's all there is to anything you want to do and have. Make the decision then do what you need to do to get it. It might take minutes or it might take years depending on the nature and complexity of what you want. But we're capable of most things within reason, capable of learning new skills and adapting to fit the needs of any situation.

In those moments when we're happy and free and life just seems a breeze you can see no challenges on the road, all obstacles have gone. Your energy and perception expands beyond any sense of difficulty. It's like falling in love, when you're immersed in that feeling your partner can do nothing wrong. But when things change and the energy shifts your perception of things may differ and problems and challenges appear. But these are just a manifestation of self doubt, of inner emotional angst that hasn't been looked at and resolved from within your own system. Therefore you project it outwards into life, you make practicalities negative.

When you're happy, things are good, when you're not happy things are more difficult. I don't think we should rely on being happy and try to make ourselves feel that way all the time, no. I think it helps better to understand the journey of each day and the fluctuation of emotion. Just factor that into your plan. So when you're going for ice cream you can feel happy or sad regardless because you know at the end what you want, and you know step by step how to get there. So focus and willpower is the key to having what you want. 

You can practise focus and willpower in small doses, just look at when you make any small choice to do something, like making dinner. You choose, then you do it through focus and will, success! Now just continue to make that choice for success over and over again, to do all the little things you need to do towards your greater goal. It's easy, there's no rush, just do it.
